Bunny Lovin' - Digitally Sweet challenge #74

Valentines Day is upon us once again and is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year. For some. For others it can be the most depressing day of the year!!
My take on Valentines Day.... If your other half can't be bothered to buy you flowers and shower you with love on any other day of the week then.....
Anyway, now I've got that bit out the way..

This weeks challenge at
Digitally Sweet we were sponsored by Digital Darla Designs.

This week we also had a sketch to work from.

I chose the soooo cute "Bunny Lovin'" to work with.
Here's what I did...

I coloured the image in with Spectrum Noirs choosing pinks and greys as my colour palette.

I wanted to frame the image with a lovely border but decided to go with two! The brown to bring out the colour of her hair and the pink to bring out the colour of her dress.

Following the sketch, I rotated it 90 degrees, embossed the bottom using a circles embossing folder and added some wide ribbon at the join.

I inked over the embossed area with pink ink and layered the image to the right of the card blank.

I added the flower after inking, leaves and the ribbon bow.

To finish I added a couple of pink gems in the top corner.

Bits and bobs I used...

* Digital Darla Image

Spectrum Noirs
* Pattern Papers
* Circles embossing folder
* Ink - Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
* Wide pink satin ribbon
* Silk flower
* Ivy leaves
* Pink ribbon (for the bow)
* Pink gems

Thanks for looking today. Hope your Valentines Day is a lovely one. L xx
