Trio of Hearts @ Tando

Hi folks, I've called this creation for this weeks 'anything goes' at Tando, 'Trio of Hearts'.

trio of hearts canvas
I started with a square canvas and added lots of layers to the blank canvas to create loads of texture. I used book pages, ribbon, beads, threads, cord, tissue... with DecoArt matte medium to stick everything down. Then painted over it with black gesso.

I used the Tando Rustic Hearts and the two hearts from the Heart Cogs Mix. I first added a thick layer of DecoArt texture sand paste to the large cog hearts and let them dry. I then painted them using DecoArt Media paints and black gesso.

I painted the rustic hearts with DecoArt crackle paint, thin in some areas then thicker in others. I then painted them with DecoArt Media paints.

I then sprayed the canvas and the rustic hearts with a couple of sprays of DecoArt white shimmer media mister.

I stacked the rustic hearts on top of each other and placed all the hearts on the canvas.

Here are the Tando products I used...available on the Tando Website.

Welcome to 2016 @ Altered Eclectics

Welcome to a new year and the first challenge of 2016 over at Altered Eclectics
We have had a few weeks off during Christmas but are back with another challenge.

So, the only rule at Altered Eclectics is, your entry must be an altered piece. And that's it. Nice and simple. You can enter anything you want, as long as it has been altered.

Here is what I created....

Tando door hanger and cogs group mask

I used a chipboard door hanger and the cogs group mask from Tando.

I used DecoArt sand texture paste through the mask. When dry, I painted it with Quinacridone Magenta, Quinacridone Violet and Pyrrole Orange and painted the cogs with Green Gold and Metallic Gold.

I added some DecoArt Liquid Glass to one of the cogs to give it a glaze.

Then I painted in between the cogs with white gesso using a dry brush.

'AMAZE'

To finish, I stamped the word 'AMAZE' using the Crafters Companion Textures Stamp - Wonders of the World set 2.

Thanks for popping by, hope to see you over at the challenge.
There's a quick link at the top of my blog.

Gift Bags @ Ellectic Ellapu

Hello and welcome to the first challenge of 2016 over at Eclectic Ellapu.
We have had a few weeks off to chill over Christmas but are back with the first of this years challenge.
The theme is Make/decorate a gift bag.

Here is what I did...

decorated gift bag

I took a ready-made brown paper gift bag and dry brushed white gesso roughly over the front, back, sides and handles of the bag.

I took a piece of thick paper and screwed it up to put creases in it then covered it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and sprayed it with water. I randomly stamped it with a florish stamp and Versafine Vintage Sepia ink to create a subtle effect. Then adhered it to the front centre of the gift bag.

I used some lace ribbon layered with brown woven ribbon and stuck it along the bottom half of the inked card. I then arranged a floral embellishment with paper flowers, paper cord, leaves and an old chain.

I did the same at the top of the bag on the handle and added an organza ribbon bow.
