Star of Wonder @ The Artistic Stamper

Hello folks and welcome to my post for The Artistic Stamper.
I've been with the team now for a couple of weeks and I'm loving playing with the amazing stamps. The only problem I'm having is choosing which ones are my favourites!!!

The theme is, of course, Christmas. And it has been snowing in the North West today so beginning to feel very festive.

Here is my creation...

I used the new Artifacts stamps, Shooting Stars and Star of Wonder. And a colour theme of kraft card and white.

I wanted to make a tile and imprint the image of the stamp. I first gathered a collection of embossing enamel and embossing powders in white, green, clear, gold and some with lots of sparkles. It is Christmas after all....

I cut a piece of greyboard in to a square shape just bigger than the Star of Wonder stamp. I put some clear embossing ink on the greyboard and covered it with white sparkle embossing powder. Then heated it to melt it. While the powder was molten, I added more powder, and continued to do this with a selection of colours to build up the greyboard tile.

When I was happy with the thickness of the tile, I put the Star of Wonder stamp on to an acrylic block and added some clear embossing inkI melted the top of the tile then gently pressed the stamp in to the embossing powder.

I left the stamp on the tile for a good 30 seconds then when it had cooled slightly, peeled off the stamp.

I then cut a piece of kraft card and stamped the Shooting Stars stamp with black ink. I stamped it on the left side and right side of the card. I then adhered the embossed tile in the centre of the card.

I added the kraft card to mats and layers of white and kraft card

To finish I distressed around the edges of the card to add some texture.

Thanks for popping by my blog today. Leave me a comment if you wish, I love to hear what you think.
Toodles for now,
Lisa xxx

Embossing Crystals @ Tando

Hello folks and welcome to today's Tando post. This weeks theme is embossing crystals.
I love playing with embossing powders, especially ultra thick embossing enamel and adding lots of colours together. Even clear embossing powder is fabulous to play with as gilding flakes and other weird objects can be trapped inside.

Here is my creation...

For this weeks challenge I used the Tando 80mm x 16mm mixed media boards.

First I applied a thick layer of DecoArt white modelling paste over a blank mixed media board. When it was dry I used DecoArt Media Misters in turquoise shimmer, white shimmer, yellow green and purple to colour the background.

I then used embossing ink to cover the entire board and heat embossed clear UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) over the top. I applied a couple of layers of UTEE to create a really thick layer.

I then used Comic Shimmer Tropic Moss Glaze embossing powder over the centre of the board and melted it slowly.

I then inked Katzelkraft seahorse stamp with black VersaFine ink whilst keeping the powder in the centre of the board molten. I then quickly applied the stamp to the molten powder and left the stamp in place until the powder had cooled.

To finish, I punched a hole in the top corner of the board, added an eyelet and threaded some blue satin ribbon and some white organza ribbon through.

Thanks for popping by today,
hope to see you again soon.

Christmas Stocking with Tando

Hello folks and welcome to another post. Today I am sharing my colour theme creation for the Tando Creative Team. This months colour theme is very Christmassy.

I must admit, I'm not a very red person, even at Christmas. My Christmas cards are usually blue, green, blue, purple, gold, silver, blue, purple... you get the idea....

For this challenge I wanted to do something related to Christmas, as it is the season, but also do something a bit unusual. I decided on a plaque or what could be turned in to a wall hanging.

This is what I created...

I started with a piece of MDF board to work on. I added some linen fabric, some ripped cardboard, some tape and ribbon to add some texture to the MDF.

I used the Tando Christmas Stocking as the centre piece and I used a palette knife to add DecoArt sand texture paste to give it more texture.

I added some Tando Christmas Stocking mini's to repeat the christmas theme down the right side.

And added some different sized metal rings down the left side, again to create texture and introduce different shapes.

I gave the whole thing a good coat of gesso then painted with DecoArt paints.

I freehand cut the numbers 2 and 5 a couple of times and stuck them together. Then raided my huge box of embossing powders and chose a selection of colours - racing green, copper, red, gold and a white holographic.

I first heat embossed the numbers using a mixture of the colours. I wanted the background to blend as one and the numbers to stand out so I made the '25' bright and shiny.

I then added some colours from the DecoArt Media Line

To finish, I added sprinkles of the different colours of embossing powder quite randomly then heated slowly.

Here are all the items I used and are all available on the Tando Website
