Spring Has Sprung @ Tando

Hello and welcome to another Tando creation blog post.
This weeks theme is 'spring has sprung' and I'm so glad spring has arrived in the craft room because in the real world, it feels like winter! Bbbbrrrrrr.

Here is my creation...

spring has sprung

So this week, the boss (the lovely Di Oliver) came up with a brill suggestion to see if the Tando Creative Team could come up with ideas on what to do or how used the inside packaging from Tando products. I wanted to make some sort of feature plaque and the cardboard packaging from inside the large square frame was perfect for me to use as a substrate.

First, I used the garden with watering can mask and chose an area of the mask big enough to fill the large square frame and placed it in the centre of the substrate. I then used home made texture paste and applied a thin layer through the mask.
I painted the texture paint background with  DecoArt media fluid acrylics.

I then used the random circles mask at either end of the substrate and applied a thick layer of home made texture paste through the mask and again used DecoArt Fluid Acrylic paints over the top.

I covered the large square frame with clear embossing ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then added a thin layer of white gesso over the top and wiped areas off with a damp cloth to give it a worn effect.

I took some of the rabbits from the Tando Mini's - Rabbits pack and applied DecoArt sand texture paste and painted them with Burnt Umber DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic.

I then used leaves from the Tando Mini's leaves 1 and leaves 2 set along with the Tando leaf flourish 110mm and applied a thick layer of DecoArt crackle paint.

I also did the same with the Tando Mini's butterflies.

To finish, I punched a couple of holes in the top and added some red organza ribbon to hang the plaque.

I hope you like my take on Spring and hopefully the real world will catch up soon.

Birds In The Barn @ Tando

ooopppssss... for some reason I posted this over on the Tando blog but never published it on my own... blonde moment!!!
So here it is, a bit behind but...

Hi folks and welcome to today's post for February's colour challenge over @ Tando.

This months colour chart is a gorgeous selection of lemon, lime, greys and blue.

Here is my creation...

birds in the barn

I used the Mini House Printer Tray, Owls chipboard pieces, Minis Owls 2 and the Leaf Branch With Cut Out Leaves from Tando.

To create the printer tray background colour I used white and black gesso to make grey tones. When dry I then randomly dry brushed DecoArt Colbalt Teal Hue and Green Gold over the top.

I painted the Minis Owls 2 grey, green gold and primary yellow using the DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics. And I used Colbalt Teal Hue and grey for the other Owls.

Using the Tando Leaf Branch with Cut Out Leaves, I cut all the leaves off the branch and painted them green and yellow using quite a thick layer of paint.

I then arranged the pieces in to and on the house frame to create a bit of depth.

MIXED MEDIA TAG @ TANDO

A big hello to everyone as it's been a while, ok, it's been a llllooooonnnnngggggg time since I last blogged. Had a few (hundred) things to deal with and it put a holt on the creative juices from flowing.

But... I'm back with a mixed media tag for Tando Creative. You can check out the Tando blog here.

MIXED MEDIA TAG

I started with a Tando tag and painted it with the three DecoArt Fluid Acrylic colours in three horizontal sections.

I stamped the painted background with Carmen's Veranda Grunge Black Swirl stamp and Jet Black StazOn ink.

I then used some homemade texture paste through the Tando cogs mask. When dry, I placed the mask over the textures areas and painted them with the DecoArt metallic gold paint.

I stamped areas of the Carmen's Veranda stamp on to the tag with clear embossing ink and heat embossed the areas with gold embossing powder.

I applied DecoArt sand texture paste to one of the small clocks with my finger, which gives a more bumpy, textured appearance than when using a spatula.
I then, randomly added clear embossing ink to the clock and heat embossed it with the gold powder.

To finish, I added some white silk and blue organza ribbons.

Bits and Pieces I used...

Tando Long tags.
Tando cogs group mask.
Tando 4 clocks small.
(All available on the Tando Creative Website)

Set of 5 Long Tags     Cogs Group Mask 15cm x 15cm   4 Clocks Small

DecoArt Fluid Acrylics - blue green light, colbalt teal hue, colbalt turquoise hue, metallic gold.
DecoArt Sand Texture Paste.

Homemade Texture Paste.
Gold Embossing Powder.

Thanks for popping by, and hopefully it won't be as long next time...
Toodles for now.
