ALTERED ECLECTICS - bloom, grow canvas

Hello all, another challenge over at Altered Eclectics and this month I have decided to share with you a canvas I created. 

I used lots of lovely IndigoBlu stamps on this project to create a stamped layered background. 

I inked the canvas with different coloured inks and sprayed then stamped randomly over the top with IndigoBlu Itsy Bitsy Backgrounds and the IndigoBlu Ledger stamp. 
I then stamped the Umbellate stamp over the top. 

I then added swipes of FlitterGlu with my finger in random placed and added some gilding flakes. 

To finish, I added areas of melted wax to create texture around the edges of the canvas and coated the printed sentiment with UTEE.

Totally Gorjuss #242 - 'PINK & GREEN'

This weeks theme at Totally Gorjuss is 'PINK & GREEN'. simple enough.... pink & green... 
I thought I'd play for this one.

I decide to choose lots of goodies from my other Oak House Studios for this one. I am in love with their colour mist sprays at the moment. The colours are fabulous and they colour any kind of medium.

Here is what I created...

I started with a MDF plaque and painted it with a couple of coats of gesso.

I sprayed the white gesso-ed background with 'peacock green' and 'paris pink' colour mists from Oak house Studio to create this gorgeous, bright colourful background. 

I stamped the 'english garden words' in black ink and the 'ATC linen' stamp in 'wine' colour chemistry ink on to a cosmetic tissue. 

I applied bees wax from the melting pot to adhere the stamped images on tissue to the MDF. Then went around the edges with the wax to create some texture.

I stamped the daisy from the 'double daisy' stamp set on to thin white card and sprayed it with the same coloured sprays. I added wax to give it a vintage look. 

To finish, I added three buttons made from green coloured UTEE to the corner and added some dyed ribbon to hand the plaque.

Mother's Day Plaque

Hi folks!! I recently showed you the car I made for Mother's Day this year. I also made my mum a MDF plaque.

Here it is... 

I used a selection of Visible Image stamps and had a play with the melting pot for this project.

The Visible Image stamps I used were the Plaid Background, Grunge Polka Dot background, the rose from the Isabella Lost Love Set and the Large Butterfly.

I sanded a MDF plaque and gave it a coat of gesso then painted it with neutral emulsion paint. 

I stamped the Plaid and Grunge Polka Dot stamps directly on the MDF and stamped the rose from the Isabella Lost Love set and Butterfly stamp on to cosmetic tissue. 

I placed the roses and butterflies on to the plaque and painted bees wax over the top and then painted the entire plaque with the wax. I then brushed the front with Mica Powder to give the wax a shine. 

I printed the sentiment out on to white card, cut it in to sections and inked around the edges. I dipped the card in to clear UTEE in the melting pot and left to dry. 

I die cut some flowers using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die on to patterned paper, layered them and added black glitter to the centres of the flowers. ]

I added the sentiment sections and a metal butterfly embellishment. To finish, I added some black paint around the edge of the plaque and threaded some jute string to the top.

Flowers Are The Music Of Life tag

I've been playing, and have had a lovely time. I've been using one of my favourite stamp sets - button florals. 
I love this stamp set! It has lots of little funky stamps and I always find myself going back to them.

I'm also having a blue period and I automatically go for the blue tone ink pads. I think this period is going to last for a while because at the minute, I'm in love with my Peacock Feathers Distress ink!!!  

I decide to recycle some cardboard and create a tag.

I made some 'homemade' texture paste and put it through a dotty mask then inked the tag in three diagonal strips with Distress Ink. 

I then created the background using a selection of the stamps from the buttons floral set. Randomly stamping the circles then embossing with gold powder and doing the same with the spots with black powder. 

I stamped on to tissue with a music notes stamp, tore the tissue and applied it to the tag using bees wax. 

I coloured the flowers with peacock feathers distress ink and dipped it in the wax. I did the same with some silk leaves. 

I added a sentiment, corner embellishment and some ribbon.
