'Fly Away' - Anything Goes @ Tando

Hello crafty peeps, it's my turn today on the Tando Creative Blog to show you what I have created for this weeks 'Anything Goes' theme.

I've called this creation 'Fly Away' and I've used one of the Tando Mini Printer Trays (152mm x 152mm with cover) along with many other Tando yummy products. (I hope you pop over to the Tando Blog where you can link your entry.)

Here is the front of my Printer Tray.

I first assembled the tray then painted everything with white gesso, then gave it a coat of scrummy IndigoBlu Hot Cocoa English Cottage Artist Acrylic Paint and sprayed loads of water to give a vintagey look.

I used a die cut to cut the oval frame shape and layered lots of embellishments. I used the grab bag arrows, mini keys, grab bag hearts, buttons grab bag and the bug set 1 - small along with some other bit and pieces from my stash.

On the inside of the tray, I used some gorgeous pattern paper for the background from the IndigoBlu Floral Vignettes 6 x 6 mixed media card pack then decorated with more wonderful Tando embellishments.

I used some of the embellishments I used on the front and added one of the butterflies from the butterfly grab bag and a bird from the grab bag mini birds. I also used some metal embellishments and played with different techniques to decorate. I painted some with IndigoBlu acrylic paints and heat embossed some of them with copper and clear embossing powder. I also filled a couple of the rectangles with DecoArt one step crackle.

All the products I used are available on the Tando Website...

Hearts & Swirls - my 1st Tando Creative Team post

Hi folks and welcome to my 1st post for the Tando Creative Team. This week's theme is 'hearts & Swirls' and you can find more amazing inspiration on the Tando blog.

I cut out a heart shape using a bit of cardboard. Then picked a selection of Tando hearts from the grab bag and picked a couple of swirls from the small and large swirls pack. I added a couple of metal flower embellishments to the mix for definition. After sticking the flowers and swirls down, I covered with whole thing with black gesso.
I then sprayed over the top using metallic acrylic paint and dry brushed some white gesso over the top.

With the Tando hearts I selected, I put them in pairs and covered one heart from each pair with Flitterglu and IndigoBlu copper kettle mega flakes.
With the other heart from each pair, I used the Tando suits mask and put a heart shape on each one with texture paste. I then painted them with IndigoBlu paint and added DecoArt one step crackle over the top, ensuring to avoid the texture paste heart shape. Then layered them to add height.

I then coloured some satin ribbon with the IndigoBlu paint as its also a fantastic fabric paint. And stamped the vintage flourish stamp over the top.

Hope you like my 1st Tando make, looking forward to the next.

Thanks for popping by, toodles for now xxx

ECLECTIC ELLAPU - favourite holidays

Hi folks, another month is here and still no sign of steady summer weather..... but this months challenge, 'favourite holidays' over at Eclectic Ellapu kept me busy.

As I started with this challenge I automatically went with my favourite holiday which is of course over summer. It's a time to spend with family, relaxing and enjoying the days passing by. But as I continued, I thought about the theme more. And realised that life is a holiday! Sometimes it's not always the greatest of holidays and yes, sometimes you wouldn't want to return. But, we somehow find the strength and purpose to get up, get on and if we are lucky enough, to look on life as an adventure and to live it as we've dreamt it......

So, for this months project I chose the IndigoBlu A5 Grand Tour III stamp set to play with. It has a gorgeous selection of vintage images and the exact sentiment I was looking for.

Thanks for popping by, toodles for now.....

ALTERED ECLECTICS - textured canvas

Another month over with.... by eck, it's not half going fast this year is it?
For this months project over at Altered Eclectics I focused on the new IndigoBlu stamps that have recently been released and chose the A5 Giant Poppy stamp set to work with. This stamp is exactly as stated in the title - GIANT!!! It's HUGE!!!!

Here is my textured canvas piece.

I created lots of texture on a square canvas before adding the Giant Poppy stamp to give it more definition and look more realistic.

This has definitely been a talking point at my recent IndigoBlu demonstrations. People have been asking me how I created it. I have tried to explain but its easier to show than talk about. Soooo..... I am currently working on another canvas similar to this and have taken step-by-step photographs which I will post on my blog soon.

Thanks for popping by. Toodles for now.

IndigoBlu Challenge #27 - Just One Layer - Demonstrator Inspiration

Hi folks, welcome to challenge #27 of the IndigoBlu challenge this months theme is 'Just One Layer'. I loved doing this challenge as I try to do many creations using just one layer, particularly the creations I am sending out via post.
It's all about creating the illusion of multiple layers on one flat surface by creating textures and using different mediums to create levels.

For this challenge I decided to create a tag rather than a card and chose a size #10 tag as it's huge!!
I used an oldie but a goody IndigoBlu stamp. It's definitely one of my 'go to' stamps as I just love it. It's the Itsy Bitsy Backgrounds stamp set which has four different textures to create a grungy background to any project.

I decided my colour palette would be blue/green with a touch of yellow. I went directly to my Distress Inks as which ever colours I intend to pick they always blend so naturally. I used Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Iced Spruce, Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey Distress Inks for my background and to stamp with.

I used IndigoBlu Peony Dinkie Stamp, the small flowers from the IndigoBlu Giant Peony Stamp Set and the sentiment from the IndigoBlu Becca Stamp Set. I stamped using Versamark ink and heat embossed using jet black embossing powder.

I inked a huge length of wide organza ribbon with the Distress Inks and punched a couple of holes in the tag to tie a bow.

Hope you enjoyed my creation for this months challenge.
