Hello to all my followers, although there may only be a few of you.
As you may know, I am quite new to this.
My problem at the minute is trying to figure out which button does what... As you may have noticed I have twiddled a few knobs and changed thing around, hopefully for the better.
Will catch up with you again soon. Toodle pip.

Engagement card - January 2013

This is a card I created for my cousin who got engaged on Christmas day 2012. I really enjoyed this project as I took me back to my roots of using fabric.

I raided my ribbon/fabric stash (which I have a lot of) and found all the cream and white lace I could find.

I cut a heart template out and covered the whole thing with red-liner double sided tape. I cut strips the width of the heart and started to stick them down in strips.

I chose some 'special' lengths of lace to add over the top to stand out and break up some of the white.

I added a long piece of lace around the edge, and gathered it as I stuck it in place.
I then added buttons and paper roses, and made so mini fabric roses to match.

I decided to make a box to send the card. I made the box using Crafters Companion centura pearl card and cut out the initials of the recipients S & R on my Cricut machine.

I added flowers and buttons to match the card.

Hope you like...

Dad's Birthdy Card - March 2013

This is a card I made for my dad's birthday who is a very keen fisherman. I decided this would be a simple card focusing on the main image and using my 'working progress' Promarker skills.

I stamped and heat embossed the image with clear embossing ink first then coloured it in with a selection of Promarkers.

The image was cut using a Spellbinders die and inked around the edges. I stamped the sentiment and used foam pads to raise it.

I wanted to add ribbon or string to the card but decided it didn't look right for the theme. So, I decided on wrapping fishing wire round numerous times and added split shot fishing weights to incorporate with the theme.

In the garden...

This is a box card I made for a friends mums 60th birthday who enjoys gardening.

I used the 'home to nest' papers from Docrafts as my initial inspiration.

I decided to use a box card as it was a 'special' birthday being a 60th ans also wanted to include 3D elements.

The front of the card box I made an envelope from the Docraft papers and included a pull out tag with a 'happy 60th birthday' message. I tied jute twine around the spine and added a jute knot to act as a handle to open the card.

I covered the inside box with wood grain print paper to create a feel as if the recipient was looking out a window in to the garden. I used a Flowersoft stamp to stamp the tree and added Flowersoft to create colour and texture.

I added the fence using a Spellbinders die.
The flowers at the front were created the same was as the tree.

My favourite part of making the card was creating the trellis. I used cocktail sticks which I coloured using a Promarker, criss-crossed and glued at the points and covered with Flowersoft.

I filled a mini wicker basket with tulip paper flowers and reindeer moss and tied a jute knot in the handle.

I loved doing this project and was particularly pleased to hear the recipient liked her card so much it made her cry!!
