Circles

Hi lovelies, today's blog post is for Tando Creative and this weeks theme is 'circles'.

I used Tandos Guitar clock kit for this creation but decided to use it as an art piece rather than a clock, so used it without the clock mechanism.

The top layer of the kit comes completely disassembled which is then adhered on to the base of the guitar shape after decoration, which means many different techniques can be applied to all the different pieces of the top layer.

This is what I created...

I used lots of different products to create different decorative techniques which included DecoArt Premium Acrylic paints, Andy Skinner's new Embossing Enamels - Granite, Funky Cold Patina, Crystal Glaze, stamping, stencilling and decoupage.

I took a selection of different pieces of the top layer and heat embossed them with different embossing enamels then stamped in to the enamel when it was still hot with a rubber stamp to create an impression.

On another selection of pieces I stencilled onto them using different circle pattern stencils with white modelling paste then painted them with DecoArt Premium Acrylics.

On some of the pieces I distressed some old music paper and decoupaged it using PVA glue.

On a couple of the pieces, I covered them with DecoArt texture sand paste and painted over them.

On the rest of the pieces I covered with the embossing enamel and on the biggest piece that I embossed I then stamped on the top of it.

When all the pieces were dry I put them together like a jigsaw to form the guitar shape and glued them on to the MDF base.

Tando meet Chocolate Baroque

Hi lovelies, today's blog post is showcasing a great combination of two amazing British companies - Tando Creative and Chocolate Baroque. A match made in heaven!!!

The two companies are definitely favourites of mine, which is probably why I choose to dedicate so much of my time to create samples for both of them. I honestly believe, to work for a company you have to be a genuine fan of their product. And I have been a huge fan of both Tando Creative and Chocolate Baroque for a long, long time.

Of Course, Tando is known for its fabulous creations of greyboard products and kits. Chocolate Baroque is very well known for its amazing quality and designs of rubber stamps. Both these companies design and create on their premises in the UK - which just makes it even better to know you are also supporting a homegrown company.

Here is the Tando tag I created using a Chocolate Baroque stamp.

First, I painted a Tando tag with yellow and blue DecoArt Premium Acrylic paints. Then painted over it with white Gesso. When it was dry, I rubbed over the tag with a damp baby wipe to distress the surface of the tag.
I then stamped directly on to the tag using Chocolate Baroque's 'movie strip collage' A5 Rubber Stamp. I coloured in the stamped flower using my lovely new Koh-I-Noor watercolour pencils. I then painted a section of the Tando Extra Thins - Wire and added it to the tags. I finished with adding some rusty orange thread to the tag hole.

Thank you so much for popping by my blog today.
Toodles for now,

Heat Embossing with Tando Creative

Helllllooooo.... lovely people. It has been a long, long time since I blogged with the summer holidays, children being off school and a load of other things going on....

But, today I am blogging for Tando Creative and this weeks theme is 'heat embossing'.

As soon as I first discovered heat embossing (too many years ago to mention) I instantly fell in love, and still continued to be astonished with the process to this day.

So for this tag, I used a selection of Tando stencils, the new Andy Skinner Embossing Powder and stamps from Creative Expressions.

I first painted a Tando tag using DecoArt Premium Acrylic Paints in Colbalt Teal Hue mixed with White Gesso. Then heat emboss using a Tando stencil with clear embossing ink and Andy Skinner's Embossing Powder.

I then heat embossed Tando Thins with the clear embossing ink and another of Andy Skinner's Embossing Powder.

Using Andy Skinner's new stamp - Gypsie Queen stamped with clear embossing ink and White Embossing Powder, twice on to white card, cut out then inked one with a dark blue ink and one with a light blue ink. Then over layed them and glued them together.

Stamp the sentiment on to white card using clear embossing ink and white embossing powder. Then inked with the blue ink.

Add some blue wool under the sentiment and add some thread through the tag hole.

The Tando blog is currently under reconstruction and will be back up and running asap.
